This stage concerns itself with the detail requirements of the code as the drawings are further developed. Drawings and draft of specifications are reviewed at or near the end of the drawing production to serve as a final code compliance check. Included in this phase are reviews and recommendations for the following:
Fire separations (e.g., locations, ratings, details related to) for corridors, floor opening protectives (stairways, elevators, escalators, etc.), fire areas and fire walls, elevator lobbies, mix use separations, hazardous separations, etc.
Chases
Construction details
Detail of fire assemblies meeting the laboratory fire tests requirements.
Firestopping
Material and specification coordination
Drawing support or recommendations to incorporate code information
(e.g., production of "Code Analysis Plan", etc.)
Accessibility requirements (ADA/accessibility requirements of local building code): Toilet facilities and fixtures, toilet accessories, elevators and conveying devices, areas of refuge, site, assembly spaces and other specialty occupancy requirements, seeing/hearing impairment requirements, accessible routes, and etc.
Door and Finish Schedules
Details relating to means of egress components
Specialty items (smoke vents, roof hatches and scuttles, skylights, etc.)
Miscellaneous detail code requirements
